Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Zero Harm Advisor for the Southeast Queensland Water Program. The role involves field-based safety leadership across sites, coaching delivery teams, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and Downer standards.

Office-based planning, reporting and improvements are also part of the role. You will lead risk-based inspections, audits and investigations, while supporting onboarding, risk reviews and continuous improvement initiatives across construction,

Formación

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent WHS qualification.
• Experience in a health and safety advisory or operational safety role.
• Experience with health, safety and environmental management systems and applying legislation in the field.
• Strong coaching, consultation and relationship-management skills; practical and collaborative approach.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with ability to prepare reports for varied audiences.
• Organisational, judgement and problem-solving skills; able to prioritise in a changing environment.
• Current driver's license and ability to travel between sites in the program area.
• Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
• Legal right to work in Australia.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct assurance activities and turn findings into improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Provide practical Zero Harm and environmental advice to project managers, engineers and delivery partners.
• Maintain a visible field presence and coach teams to understand critical risks and improve planning and execution of work.
• Support application of legislation, Downer standards, client requirements and Zero Harm plans across activities.
• Provide governance and assurance over Zero Harm systems through inspections, field observations and audits.
• Lead ICAM investigations and support incident and near-miss investigations; develop actionable improvements.
• Support development and review of Zero Harm plans, risk registers, SWMS and inductions.
• Record, review and close-out incidents, hazards, inspections and actions; support monthly reporting and trend analysis.
• Support onboarding and assurance through document reviews, field verification and subcontractor audits.
• Provide specialist advice and governance to support accountability of operational leaders.
• Support workforce consultation through field engagement, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Lead or contribute to Zero Harm improvement initiatives and share lessons learned.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders.
• Contribute to broader Zero Harm team and promote learning across Water programs.
