Act for Kids in Townsville is seeking a Youth Worker to support children and young people facing complex challenges, delivering practical, short‑term interventions and helping them stay connected with school and community.

This casual position falls under Level 3 SCHCADS; hourly salary $50.61–$54.28 plus super. Applicants should have Certificate IV in youth work or studying toward, with at least two years' relevant experience, and be eligible to work in Australia.

• Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (youth work, community services) or studying toward a relevant tertiary qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ experience providing intensive youth work support to young people in a child protection context or who have experienced trauma and disruptions in attachment.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).

We are excited to welcome a Youth Worker to our Townsville Individual Support Services team! In this role, you’ll be a trusted support person for children and young people navigating complex challenges; building genuine connections, boosting confidence, and helping them stay engaged with school, community, and life. Working with our Townsville team, you’ll deliver hands‑on, practical support and short‑term interventions that create meaningful, lasting impact for young people and their families.

• Level 3 SCHCADS Award.
• Salary range: $50.61 - $54.28 per hour + Superannuation.
• Casual contract opportunity.
