Job summary

Act for Kids in Toowoomba is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to join the Toowoomba Intensive Family Support team. You will work with families and individual members to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful change, using evidence-informed therapeutic interventions to improve wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include intensive case management, creating goals with families, collaborating with other services, and strengthening resilience and protective factors for children.

Qualifications

• Two or more years’ experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, including required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
• Professional registration and/or membership in a professional association desirable.

Job description

We are excited to welcome a Family Support Practitioner to our Toowoomba Intensive Family Support team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work comprehensively with families as a whole and with individual family members to overcome the challenges they are experiencing and achieve meaningful change. In this role, you will utilise evidence informed therapeutic interventions and be contributing directly to the improved wellbeing of children and families.

• Level 4 SCHCADS Award.
• Salary range: $92,287 - $99,295 + Superannuation.
• Full-time, temporary backfill opportunity until 30 June 2027.

About You

• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required), and a membership in a professional association (desirable).
• Demonstrate at least two (2) years’ experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
