Job summary

CQID is seeking a Youth Support Worker to provide frontline support for the YSS/YHARS team in Fraser Coast region, assisting in meeting client case plan outcomes. The role focuses on wellbeing, social connection, engagement, and empowerment for youth aged 12–21.

As part of the Youth Hub Team, you will engage with young people and families, requiring strong communication and collaboration to deliver planned programs within the community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of issues specific to Indigenous young people and their families.
• Awareness and understanding of Indigenous communities; ability to communicate appropriately.
• Ability to build respectful/professional relationships with service users, agencies and partners.
• Ability to provide support to Indigenous families and children.
• Ability to work with multiple services (schools, welfare, police, health).
• Ability to write case notes in a timely manner.
• Competent in use of Microsoft Office software.
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage is required.

Responsibilities

• Visit young people at home with/without a caseworker.
• Support families to respond to challenging behavior and engage with external services.
• Engage with young people, families and community to promote wellbeing.
• Develop, implement and evaluate youth programs and activities.
• Facilitate inclusive programs addressing diverse needs of youth.
• Build professional relationships with service users and stakeholders.
• Transport clients to appointments as required after consulting with a case worker.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and HSQS standards.
• Follow Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
