Job summary

Central Queensland Indigenous Development is seeking a Youth Support Worker to provide frontline support to the YSS/ YHARS team across the Fraser Coast community. The role focuses on engaging young people aged 12–21, promoting wellbeing, social connection and empowerment, and working closely with families and service providers.

The successful candidate will build respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, support program development and comply with CQID policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Indigenous youth issues.
• Ability to communicate appropriately with Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

• Visit young people at home as needed.
• Support families to develop skills for responding to youth behaviour.
• Develop, implement and evaluate youth programs.
• Promote wellbeing, social connection and empowerment for youth aged 12–21.
