Job summary

Central Queensland Indigenous Development (CQID) is seeking a Youth Worker to provide frontline support through the YSS team across communities in Fraser Coast and Central Queensland. The role focuses on wellbeing, social connection, engagement, and empowerment for youths aged 12–21 years, working with families and partners to deliver responsive programs.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
• Understanding of issues affecting Indigenous youth.
• Ability to build professional relationships with service users and partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Visit young people at home with or without a caseworker.
• Support families to develop skills to respond to youth challenges.
• Engage with young people, families, and community to promote wellbeing.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate youth programs.
• Facilitate inclusive programs for diverse youth needs and interests.
• Build and maintain professional youth work relationships and mentorship.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and service providers.
