Job summary

yourtown is seeking a dynamic Youth Worker to join the Get Back in the Game program in St Marys, NSW. You will support young people aged 15-21 using a client-centered, strength-based approach to address non-vocational barriers and work toward sustainable employment, education or training outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, referrals, goal setting, case conferencing with the Senior Pathways Coach and Employment Mentor, and delivering group activities to build life and work

Qualifications

• Two years' experience supporting young people through case management or similar roles.
• Solid understanding of the local labour market and barriers faced by disadvantaged youth.
• Proven ability to deliver workshops and facilitate groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to network with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient with technology and systems to meet compliance requirements.
• Unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking individual assessments and referrals to specialist services.
• Collaborating with young people to set goals addressing non‑vocational barriers.
• Case conferencing with Senior Pathways Coach and Employment Mentor.
• Advocating for the young person and challenging the status quo.
• Developing and delivering group activities to build work readiness.
• Partnering with community organisations, employers, schools and training providers.
