Description
Working within the Get Back in the Game (GBIG) program, the Senior Pathways Coach supports young people experiencing complex vocational and non-vocational barriers to reconnect with education, training and employment.
yourtown is a trusted provider of services for young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, long-term unemployment, prevention of youth suicide, child protection, as well as support for those experiencing domestic and family violence.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands what motivates young people, can build genuine rapport and is confident working across school and community environments. You will provide intensive, strengths‑based case management while also acting as a senior point of contact for the team, supporting complex cases, day‑to‑day decisions and the achievement of program outcomes. This is a full time, maximum term position for 12 months
We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is comfortable being present, practical and proactive. You will understand education settings and the realities facing young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging. More important than holding a specific qualification is your depth of relevant experience, sound judgement and ability to recognise what drives each young person and translate that into realistic next steps.
A relevant tertiary qualification is highly regarded however, we also recognise the significant value of extensive industry experience, particularly where it has developed the practical skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to support young people. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate not only expertise in youth work practice, but also the ability to effectively assist young people to transition into employment, training or further education
When you join yourtown you will be welcomed into a safe, inclusive and diverse community and an established and reputable national organisation. We are a resilient, resourceful and dedicated team who strive to make a difference and not accept the status quo.
