Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking an Education, Employment & Pathways Coach for the Foyer Central site in Chippendale, Sydney. This permanent, full-time role focuses on helping young people aged 18–22 engage in education, training and employment opportunities, using strengths-based Advantaged Thinking practice.

You'll mentor, facilitate learning, build partnerships with education providers and employers, and support completion of the Foyer Life Skills Course, empowering youths toward independence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences and/or demonstrated relevant experience working with young people.
• A passion for supporting young people and an understanding of the challenges faced by those transitioning from out-of-home care.
• Demonstrated experience supporting young people to engage in education, training and employment opportunities.
• Experience in career advisory, employment services or working with education and training providers.
• The ability to initiate and maintain positive relationships with employers, education providers, training organisations and community services.
• An understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice, with a willingness to embrace the Advantaged Thinking approach.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
• A current NSW Driver Licence, Working with Children Check and the ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate structured and informal learning opportunities.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to young people.
• Build strong partnerships with education providers, employers and community organisations.
• Motivate and empower young people to recognise their strengths and achieve education and employment goals.
• Support completion of the Foyer Life Skills Course.
