Job summary

Brewer Civil & Earthworks in Rockhampton, QLD, is seeking a reliable Yard Person for an ongoing casual role. You will keep the yard tidy, manage stock, assist with deliveries and support site, workshop and office teams.

The successful candidate will hold a current driver’s licence, have yard/warehouse experience, be organised, punctual, physically capable, with good record-keeping and communication skills. Plant tickets are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Keep yard, sheds and common areas clean, safe and organised.
• Receive, check, label and store incoming materials.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stocktakes.
• Maintain tool register; store tools and equipment properly.
• Complete deliveries and collections from worksites and suppliers.
• Safely load and unload materials and equipment.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and serviceable.
• Report defects, hazards or maintenance needs.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and support teams as required.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Yard Person to join our Rockhampton team in an ongoing casual position.

This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard while managing stock, tools, vehicles and equipment. You will also complete deliveries and collections and provide general support to our site, workshop and office teams.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows initiative and can manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the yard, sheds and common areas clean, safe and organised.
• Receive, check, label and store incoming materials.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stocktakes and inventory control.
• Maintain the tool register and ensure tools and equipment are correctly stored.
• Complete deliveries and collections from worksites, suppliers and vendors.
• Safely load, secure and unload materials and equipment.
• Keep vehicles, plant and equipment clean and serviceable.
• Complete basic inspections and report defects, hazards or maintenance requirements.
• Remove and appropriately dispose of waste and unwanted materials.
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe manual-handling practices.
• Provide general support to site, workshop and management teams as required.

Skills and Requirements

• Current driver’s licence.
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse or similar role.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Physically capable of manual handling and general yard duties.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Relevant plant tickets are desirable.
