Job summary

Sims Metal Management Ltd. is seeking an Operator/Yard Hand at our Northgate site in Brisbane to support the day-to-day scrap metal operations. This hands-on role offers job security, training and a clear path to career progression within a global recycling leader.

You will load and unload trucks and trailers, sort and process materials, assist with purchasing scrap and maintain a safe, clean yard. A current forklift licence is ideal but not essential, and a positive, customer-focused attitude

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, labouring or similar hands-on environment.
• Strong customer focus and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing friendly and professional customer service.
• Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins and trailers using a forklift.
• Sorting, grading and processing scrap metal materials.
• Assisting with purchasing scrap metal from customers.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment.
• Following all safety and environmental procedures.
