Job summary

Sims Limited in Bathurst is seeking a hands-on Forklift Operator/Yard Hand to join our team. This day-shift role offers consistent hours and a real variety of tasks in the yard.

You will load and unload, sort metals, and provide friendly service to customers while helping keep the yard safe and efficient. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current forklift licence.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and stay on task.
• Professional, customer-focused approach on-site.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tickets over time.
• Experience in scrap metal or recycling is a bonus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift safely and efficiently.

• Sort and grade ferrous and non-ferrous metal.

We're looking for a hands-on Forklift Operator/Yard Hand to join our team at Bathurst. If you're keen to build your skills, we'll back you to pick up extra tickets over time.

This is a day shift role with consistent hours and real variety in the work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating the forklift
• Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins and trailers
• Sorting and grading ferrous and non-ferrous metal
• Providing a high standard of service to customers in the yard
• Helping keep the yard safe and running efficiently

What You'll Need

• A current forklift licence
• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• A professional, customer-focused approach when dealing with people on-site
• Willingness to learn and take on new tickets over time
• Experience in scrap metal, recycling or a similar industry is a bonus but we'll provide training for the right person
