Job summary

Carmichael Ford Townsville is hiring a Workshop Controller to lead the Service Department and keep the workshop running smoothly and efficiently. You will coordinate day-to-day workflow, support technicians and ensure customers receive the quality service Carmichael Ford is known for.

You will work with the Workshop Foreman and management team, taking ownership of workshop performance while developing your automotive career. Ford experience is preferred but not essential.

Due to continued growth and recent expansion, Carmichael Ford Townsville has an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join our Service Department.

This is a key leadership position responsible for keeping our busy workshop running smoothly, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll coordinate the day-to-day workflow, support our technicians and help ensure our customers receive the quality service they expect from Carmichael Ford.

You’ll be well supported by our Workshop Foreman and experienced management team, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of workshop performance while continuing to develop their automotive career.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing and controlling daily workshop workflow
• Allocating jobs effectively across the technician team
• Monitoring technician performance, productivity and efficiency
• Driving performance and helping the team achieve workshop targets
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality
• Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
• Helping ensure customer satisfaction expectations are consistently met
• Working closely with the Workshop Foreman and management team

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Previous experience within an automotive dealership or workshop environment
• A good understanding of dealership and service department operations
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• The ability to remain calm and perform effectively under pressure
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive team performance
• High standards for yourself and those around you
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction

Previous Ford experience would be highly regarded, but isn't essential. More importantly, we're looking for someone with the right automotive experience, leadership ability and drive to make a positive impact within the workshop.
