Job summary

Hyden Engineering is seeking a highly skilled foreperson for our Rutherford hydraulic workshop. You will allocate jobs, supervise tradespeople and apprentices, and ensure quality standards are met.

The role involves fault finding, servicing and repairing hydraulic systems, monitoring budgets, and assisting with quotations. In-house and external training are provided, with ISO9001 and WHS4500 certifications supporting the environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of hydraulic equipment.
• Current NSW driver's license.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Allocate jobs to tradespeople in accordance with the workshop plan.
• Supervise a team of tradespeople and apprentices assembling products to Hyden standards.
• Supervise fault finding, servicing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, fuel and water spray products.
• Monitor job hours against budgets and take corrective actions to meet KPIs.
• Assist with preparation of quotations for repair jobs.
• Involvement in R&D for new products.
• Involvement in product, customer service and business system improvements.

If you have the skills and are looking for a full-time role as a foreperson of a hydraulic workshop.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Allocate jobs to tradespeople in accordance with the current workshop plan.

Supervise a team of tradespeople and apprentices assembling new products in accordance with Hyden quality and design standards.

Supervise a team of tradespeople and apprentices fault finding, servicing & repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, fuel &water spray products.

Monitor job hours against budgets and take corrective actions to ensure jobs are completed to KPI’s or variations submitted accordingly.

Assist with the preparation of quotations for repair jobs.

Involvement in the research & development for new products.

Involvement in product, customer service and business system improvement

Experience & attributes:

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Experience with the maintenance and repair of hydraulic equipment.

Current NSW driver’s license.

Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and regulations.

Strong work ethic and desire to advance your skills and improve job efficiencies.

Set hours of 7.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday

Overtime available where applicable
