Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power Australia is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join our Newcastle workshop. In this hands-on role you will carry out hydraulic cylinder repairs, rebuilds and testing for a broad industrial client base.

The ideal candidate will hold a trade certificate in Fitting & Machining or Mechanical Engineering, have hands-on hydraulic system experience and a valid Australian driver's licence. You will work safely, record-keeping, and contribute to a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining or related discipline.
• Hands-on hydraulic cylinder repairs experience.
• Valid Australian driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hydraulic cylinder repairs, rebuilds and reconditioning to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and assess hydraulic components for repair or replacement.
• Assemble and test hydraulic hose and fittings assemblies.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
• Adhere to workshop safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Support the broader workshop team with day-to-day operations as required.

About You

• Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic cylinder repairs and/or hydraulic systems
• Valid Australian driver's licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding ability
• Reliable, safety‑conscious, and takes pride in quality workmanship
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
