Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in Mackay is seeking an experienced Service Supervisor to lead daily workshop operations, support Leading Hands and tradespeople, and drive safety, quality, and customer outcomes in a permanent, Monday–Friday role.

You will oversee estimating input, quotes, and work scope, manage resources, and contribute to continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with WH&S standards. This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified leader with workshop experience.
• Proven supervisory experience in workshop, service, mining, or heavy equipment.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy mobile equipment maintenance.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and manage work orders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to safety and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety and compliance.
• Provide technical input into estimates and work scope development.
• Lead weekly and monthly departmental meetings.
• Manage workshop efficiency and address inefficiencies.
• Determine manpower and equipment requirements.
• Contribute to business improvement and projects.
• Record meeting minutes and track actions.
• Coordinate machine arrivals, promises, and customer requirements.
• Administer warranty assessments.
• Deliver accurate quotations.
• Monitor work order budgets and labour targets.
• Oversee quality and performance.
