Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in Mackay is seeking an experienced Foreman for the Mackay Mineshop to lead skilled tradespeople, coordinate daily workshop activities, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

The role is permanent, Monday to Friday, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to customers and maintaining strong safety, productivity, and service outcomes in a mining workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Diesel Fitter/Plant Mechanic/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.
• Experience leading teams in workshop, mining, construction or heavy equipment environments.
• Proven ability to build and mentor a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety leadership and promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain safety compliance across the team and site.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and service standards.
• Lead team performance and monitor productivity KPIs.
• Plan and allocate resources to meet service commitments and budgets.
• Oversee quotes, estimates and cost control for service work.
