Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is recruiting a Service Supervisor for Mackay to lead workshop operations, drive team performance, and ensure outstanding customer outcomes. This permanent role focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.

You will manage Leading Hands and tradespeople, optimize resources, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining strong customer relations and adherence to WH&S standards.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified leader with diesel or heavy equipment trade background.
• Experience supervising workshop teams in mining, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
• Strong understanding of heavy mobile equipment maintenance, repair, and service operations.
• Planning, scheduling, quoting, estimating, and work order management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety and WH&S compliance across workshop activities.
• Lead daily/weekly meetings with Leaders Hands and tradespeople.
• Oversee workshop efficiency and address work-order bottlenecks.
• Coordinate resource planning, manpower, and equipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate estimations, quotes, and customer communications.
• Monitor financials, budgets, and labor targets.
• Ensure quality and performance in collaboration with Service Coordinators.
