Launchbury's Engineering is seeking a Workshop Manager for our Structural steel fabrication division. You will lead all workshop activities, overseeing production, safety, quality, and profitability to support industrial, mining, construction and infrastructure projects in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Strong workshop management background in structural steel fabrication.
• Proven problem solving and time management skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Solid knowledge of Excel, MS Office, Outlook; CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of all workshop activities including production, productivity, and quality.
• Provide regular feedback and reporting to Senior Management on performance and deliverables.
• Lead and develop workshop personnel to achieve business outcomes.
• Ensure proper use of workshop equipment and materials.
• Ensure fabrication work meets client specifications and quality systems.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Workshop Manager for our Structural steel fabrication division. This is a management position responsible for all activities within the division.

You will be an integral part of the management team that delivers quality out-comes to industrial, mining, construction and infrastructure projects throughout the local area and other parts of Queensland.

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong Workshop Management background in the Structural Steel sector, with prior experience working as a fabricator.
• Self-motivated problem solver, excellent time management skills & superior attention to detail.
• Trade Qualifications – Engineering (Boilermaker)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid software knowledge of Excel, MS Office, Outlook and CAD (desirable)
• Full hands on – operational experience, with the ability to work quickly, effectively and positively in a demanding environment.
• Highly motivated by OH&S and Quality Control.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Management and responsibility for the delivery of all workshop activities, including; production and productivity, job profitability, occupational health and safety, quality and operational performance.
• Provide regular feedback and reporting (both informal and formal) to Senior Management of workshop performance and deliverables.
• Provide leadership to all workshop personnel, in order to deliver business outcomes.
• Ensure the proper use of workshop equipment and materials.
• Ensure that the quality of all fabrication work carried out conforms to the client’s specifications and to the Company’s quality system.
