Job summary

BMD Group is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to lead the maintenance team for its project fleet, ensuring safety, reliability and high availability. You will coordinate servicing and preventative maintenance, manage costs and drive productivity while leading a skilled team on a FIFO 2:1 roster in the Pilbara.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience in construction/resources, strong communication and a collaborative approach with operations and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervisory experience in construction/resources sector
• Experience in workshop maintenance environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proven communicator with leadership ability

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance activities for mobile construction plant and heavy equipment.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Lead a team of mechanics and technicians; assign tasks and provide guidance.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine repair strategies for timely resolutions.
• Monitor equipment condition and advise on replacements or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards and company protocols.
• Maintain maintenance records including service histories and parts usage.
• Coordinate with operations, procurement and OEM suppliers for servicing and parts.
• Track maintenance costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
• Conduct inspections to ensure workshop and field practices meet standards.
