Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join our Cavan branch. You’ll service Hitachi and Bell equipment, performing assembly, pre-delivery inspections, diagnostics, repairs and ongoing maintenance as part of our workshop team.

We offer OEM training, experienced mentors and real opportunities for career progression with a globally recognised manufacturer. Rosters include 5x2 or 4x3, with a competitive hourly rate, overtime and biannual bonuses.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mobile plant/diesel mechanics or equivalent.
• Experience with earthmoving equipment preferred.
• Valid Heavy Rigid and forklift licences preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Good communication and a team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine assembly, pre-delivery inspections, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance.
• Work on Hitachi and Bell equipment at the Cavan branch.
• Adhere to safety standards and report issues.
• Participate in training and upskilling opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Workshop Mechanic to join our team at our Cavan branch. As part of our Workshop Team, you'll work on industry-leading Hitachi and Bell equipment, carrying out machine assembly, pre-delivery inspections, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance. Backed by OEM training and experienced mentors, you'll have the opportunity to expand your skills while building a long-term career with a globally recognised manufacturer.

If you're a Light Vehicle or Truck Mechanic looking to transition into the heavy equipment industry, we'd love to hear from you. Hitachi can provide training, mentorship and support in upskilling to help expand your skills on our industry-leading equipment.

Available Rosters

• 5 days on, 2 days off
• 4 days on, 3 days off

About You

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Diesel Mechanics or equivalent trade qualification
• Heavy Vehicle/Truck Mechanics, or LV mechanics are encouraged to apply
• Earthmoving equipment experience (highly regarded)
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Ability to effectively diagnose and solve technical issues
• Heavy Rigid and Forklift licences (preferred but not essential)
