Qualifications

• White Card (General Construction Safety Induction)
• HR/HC Driver’s license (or willingness to obtain)
• Traffic Management Implementation (or willingness to obtain)
• Traffic Controller ticket (or willingness to obtain)
• Operate and Maintain Chainsaws (or willingness to obtain)
• ACDC (or willingness to obtain)
• Occupation Health and Safety Certificate in LR, LL, LB, LG & LF
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a small team to deliver civil works safely and efficiently
• Assist the Works Coordinator to deliver nominated projects and tasks
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation
• Implement traffic management requirements in line with legislation
• Operate plant and equipment and report defects
• Ensure all work complies with relevant State guidelines, WHS legislation, and Council policies
• Respond to customer requests, enquiries, and complaints professionally
• Participate in a on call roster and attend emergency callouts

Level 6 - $75,694 per annum + Leading Hand Allowance

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Works Leading Hand. Based at the Bowen depot, the role of Works Leading Hand will assist the Works Coordinator to deliver nominated civil works by supervising the operations of a small group of workers to ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in a safe efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate a small team to deliver civil works safely and efficiently

About you:

• Demonstrated experience in civil construction or maintenance
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a small team
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Experience operating civil plant and equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and the public
• General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
• Class HR/HC Driver’s licence (or willing to obtain)
• Current First aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• Traffic Management Implementation (or willingness to obtain)
• Traffic Controller ticket (or willingness to obtain)
• Operate and Maintain Chainsaws (or willingness to obtain)
• Agriculture Chemical Distribution and Control ACDC (or willingness to obtain)
• Occupation Health and Safety Certificate of competency in LR, LL, LB, LG & LF
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction
