Job summary

Whitsunday Regional Council in Proserpine is seeking a Water & Sewerage Network Operations Worker (Licenced Fitter) to join our team. You will ensure reliable operation and safety of water and sewerage systems across the region.

The role covers maintenance, repairs and installation on mechanical infrastructure, fabrications and pumps, with a strong focus on quality service delivery and compliance with asset management outputs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in fabrications, repairs and maintenance of pumps and servicing of pipes and mains.
• Class MR drivers licence (or willing to obtain).
• White Construction card.
• High Risk Forklift licence (or willing to obtain).
• Current First aid and CPR certificate.
• Low voltage certificate (or willing to obtain).
• Working at Heights certificate (or willing to obtain).
• Working in Confined space certificate (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants including general maintenance, fabrications and repairs.
• Maintenance, repairs and installation on water and sewerage mechanical infrastructure in accordance with Asset Management outputs.
• Maintenance, repairs and installation on water and sewerage mechanical infrastructure in response to equipment failures.
• Ensure work is carried out professionally, safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain records and order spare parts; liaise with stakeholders.

$76,014 – 91,143 per annum

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out and providing quality service delivery and ensuring the complete reliability and safe operations of Council’s infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants including general maintenance, fabrications and repairs
• Maintenance, repairs and installation on water and sewerage mechanical infrastructure in accordance with the Asset Management outputs
• Maintenance, repairs and installation on water and sewerage mechanical infrastructure in response to equipment failures

Operational Accountabilities:

• Ensure that all work carried out is undertaken professionally, to a high standard and in a safe efficient manner
• Complete basic office duties such as ordering of spare parts, quotations and maintain accurate records
• Deal effectively and effectively with internal and external stakeholder, including customer service requests, complaints and general enquiries and transactions
• Relieve at other locations throughout the region as required
• Undertake other relevant duties as required
• Class MR drivers licence (or willing to obtain)
