Job summary

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd in South Australia is seeking a role dedicated to mentoring staff as they transition into new roles, providing 1:1 coaching and facilitating group programs to build work-readiness skills.

You will work with managers to upskill leaders and support a successful employment journey, fostering cultural safety and belonging across the workplace.

Qualifications

  • The role includes 1:1 mentoring and facilitating group programs to develop work-readiness skills.
  • The role will work alongside Managers to upskill and provide support for leaders in supporting work transition of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a sense of cultural belonging and identity to help individuals feel comfortable in their work roles.
  • Assist staff in transitioning into their role by offering advice on day-to-day self-management in the workplace.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of resources and workshops to support work transition in partnership with other team members.
  • Continuously follow up with new employees as required to monitor their progress and address any challenges that may arise during their employment journey.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement strategies including ensuring up to date information is available.

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

About the Role?

The purpose of this position is to provide advice and support staff transitioning into the workforce or into a new role. Your day-to-day duties will look like:

About You?
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Current Working with Children's Check (QLD Blue Card)
Desirable, but not mandatory:
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
