Job summary

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd (IUIH) Windsor Office invites applications for an Organisational Development role that mentors staff and delivers work-readiness programs to support employment transitions.

You will work with managers to upskill leaders, provide guidance on day-to-day work transitions, and contribute to the development of resources and workshops in collaboration with the team, ensuring ongoing progress and quality improvement across the workforce.

Qualifications

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
  • Current Criminal History Check.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (QLD Blue Card).

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring and facilitate group programs to develop work-readiness skills for employment transitions.
  • Work alongside Managers to upskill and support leaders in staff transitions.
  • Foster cultural belonging and support staff adjusting to new roles.
  • Develop and deliver resources/workshops and monitor progress of new employees.
  • Contribute to quality improvement with up-to-date information and processes.

About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of growing and supporting a skilled and enabled workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce capability through training and development opportunities, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.

About the Role?

The purpose of this position is to provide advice and support staff transitioning into the workforce or into a new role. This will include 1:1 mentoring and facilitating group programs to develop work-readiness skills that enable successful employment transitions. The role will work alongside Managers to upskill and provide support for leaders in supporting work transition of staff.

Your day-to-day duties will look like:

  • Foster a sense of cultural belonging and identity to help individuals feel comfortable in their work roles.
  • Assist staff in transitioning into their role by offering advice on day-to-day self-management in the workplace.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of resources and workshops to support work transition in partnership with other team members.
  • Continuously follow up with new employees as required to monitor their progress and address any challenges that may arise during their employment journey.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement strategies including ensuring up to date information is available.

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
