Job description

Levyl Pty Ltd – Sydney Western Suburbs NSW

The Company

Our client is a leading Australian FMCG business that has established a strong reputation and presence within the health and wellness industry! Founded over a decade ago, the business has experienced significant growth, building an impressive market position through innovation, quality and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

With ambitious plans for continued growth, this is an exciting time to join an organisation recognised for its entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to finding better ways of doing things. Behind its success is a passionate team, a fast-paced operational environment and a culture that encourages collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Joining as the Work Health & Safety Manager, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the safety function, influence business-wide safety practices and make a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of employees across the organisation.

The Leaders

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will sit within the People & Culture team and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, operational leaders and employees across manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.

As the business's key WHS advisor, you will be trusted to provide practical, commercially considered advice, influence decision-making and build the capability of leaders to take ownership of safety within their teams.

The Opportunity

As the WHS Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the organisation's WHS strategy, taking ownership of safety management systems, risk mitigation, compliance and injury management across a dynamic, multi-site operational environment.

This is a hands-on yet strategic opportunity, where you will have the autonomy to drive continuous improvement, strengthen existing safety frameworks and embed a proactive safety culture throughout the business.

Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the organisation not only meets its legislative obligations but continues to evolve its approach to physical and psychosocial safety.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of:

  • Developing and delivering a multi-year WHS strategy, driving measurable improvements in safety performance and business-wide initiatives.
  • Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS management systems aligned to ISO 45001, ensuring strong governance, compliance and audit readiness.
  • Identifying, assessing and mitigating operational risks across manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, including machinery, manual handling, hazardous chemicals and workplace traffic.
  • Driving the organisation's approach to psychosocial risk management, partnering with People & Culture and operational leaders to create a safe and supportive working environment.
  • Leading incident investigations, workplace inspections and risk assessments, ensuring effective corrective actions and sustainable safety improvements.
  • Overseeing injury management, workers compensation and return-to-work programs, including complex physical and psychological injury cases.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to provide meaningful WHS insights, reporting and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Leading WHS consultation, safety committee initiatives, training and coaching to build leadership capability and encourage accountability at every level.
About You

You will bring a strong track record of experience in Work Health & Safety within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment, with proven experience operating at a senior or management level, alongside a Diploma in Work Health & Safety or higher.

You will have a proven track record of developing WHS strategies, managing safety systems aligned to ISO 45001, and navigating NSW WHS legislation, including psychosocial risk management. Experience managing complex injury and return-to-work cases will also be essential.

Above all, you will be a confident and influential communicator, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to translate complex safety requirements into practical initiatives that drive meaningful change.

This opportunity will suit someone who is equally comfortable engaging with teams on the production floor as they are presenting safety insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

This is an onsite position, requiring five days per week in the office/site.

The Process

Including an initial consultation with a Levyl consultant, the interview process will involve meeting with key stakeholders to further explore your experience, leadership approach and alignment with the organisation.
