Job summary

Whites Group, a dynamic Australian family-owned business based in Glendenning, NSW, seeks a Work, Health & Safety Coordinator to support the full range of WHS activities within a small team. Hybrid work is available, and you’ll partner with the People & Culture Manager and Senior Leadership to drive safety programs.

The role covers policy updates, incident reporting, risk management, training, and contractor management, with a focus on keeping safety certifications current and returning workers

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Work Health & Safety.
• Desirable: Return to Work Coordinator qualification.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to partner across the business.

Responsibilities

• Support leaders across the business to drive safety compliance and initiatives.
• Update and maintain WHS policies and procedures.
• Ensure certifications and licenses are up to date and manage safety administration.

We currently have an opportunity for a Work, Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team based at Glendenning (hybrid-work available). As an integral part of our small team of 3 and partnering closely with the People & Culture Manager and the Senior Leadership team, this role will work to support the business across the full range of Work, Health & Safety activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support leaders across the business to drive safety compliance and initiatives for their functions
• Provide interpretation and support to leaders regarding WHS compliance
• Review, update and create new WHS policies and procedures as required
• Ensure safety certifications and licenses are up to date, and safety administration is managed and followed up to ensure compliance
• Support Senior Leaders to carry out key safety initiatives including Risk Management, SOP's, Incident Reporting, Emergency Management and Contractor Management
• Chair the Health & Safety Committee– including participants across all functions.
• Work with leaders to ensure teams complete safety training in timeframes specified
• Complete monthly Safety Reporting to the Executive team and Whites Group Board
• Act as company Return to Work Coordinator, and manage Workers Compensation Claims to closure

Skills/Experience

• 2-3 years' experience working in Work Health & Safety
• Tertiary qualification in Safety or a related field (desirable, not essential)
• Return to Work Coordinator qualification (desirable, not essential)
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Experience in partnering closely with a business to drive safety related initiatives
