Job summary

WP Engine Australia is seeking a Technical Support L1 to join our global team. You will be the first touchpoint for customers, assisting with WordPress questions via live chat, phone, and tickets, and building strong technical knowledge of open source web technologies.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and product teams to resolve issues, deliver world-class service, and grow your skills through ongoing learning. This is a Wednesday-Sunday shift with opportunities for growth within WP Engine.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in technical support or a customer service position.
Knowledge of WordPress, plugins, and themes.
Knowledge of DNS and SSL.
Experience with file systems and tools for remotely managing web content on a server.
Knowledge of Linux Command Line.
Experience with StudioPress and/or the Genesis framework.
Experience with online chat and/or instant messaging tools.
Experience with customers via phone support.
Understanding of core hosting error codes (e.g., 404).

Responsibilities

Provide support to customers primarily via live chat, but also by phone and support tickets.
Be the first point of contact for WordPress questions and needs.
Develop deep technical knowledge of open source technologies powering WordPress experiences.
Help customers achieve reliable hosting and optimal WordPress performance.
