Job summary

Are Media Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to shape the future of our WordPress platform powering Australia’s trusted brands. You’ll lead a small development team while improving performance, security and scalability across multisite environments, themes, plugins, and Gutenberg.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Technology Operations, you’ll drive platform modernization, optimise Core Web Vitals and ad experiences, and evaluate WordPress VIP opportunities as part of our

Qualifications

Extensive WordPress development across multisite environments.
Experience with custom themes/plugins and Gutenberg.
Proven ability to mentor developers and shape technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop the WordPress Developer team, establishing coding and delivery standards.
Own the technical direction of Are Media’s WordPress platform, improving caching, security and performance.
Collaborate with Content, AdTech, Data and Tech teams to deliver paywalls, personalisation and mobile improvements.
Assess WordPress VIP and contribute to the platform roadmap.
