Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an MCU Technician (Mechanical) to support Main Component Upgrade and Uptower Repair across Wind Farms in Australia on an East Coast roster. The role will operate within a small hands-on team on-site, under the MCU Lead, with crane operations and collaboration with GE, contractors, and Sourcing teams.

The ideal candidate is a trade-qualified mechanical technician with electrical aptitude, fault-finding skills, and wind farm experience.

Qualifications

Trade qualified Mechanical tradespersons with electrical aptitude.
Proficient in fault finding electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
Experience in wind farm operations and maintenance, heavy lift main component exchange.
Willingness to travel nationally or internationally on a 3 week on, 1 week off roster.

Responsibilities

Work within small hands-on groups during on-site MCU/UTR execution.
Perform MCU work under direction of MCU Lead, including crane operations with GE teams and contractors.
Inspect major parts for damage and correct turbine configuration.
Validate inventory tooling, parts and items needed for MCU operations.
Complete documentation and data collection for MCU/UTR tasks.
Follow EHS policies and report incidents.
Participate in high voltage switching as required.
