Job summary

HBT Australia is seeking a Work Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to ensure compliance with WHS and environmental regulations and to implement employee training programs. The role promotes a proactive safety culture and requires experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and emergency planning.

The position involves delivering training across levels, developing policies, and collaborating with management. A competitive remuneration package and travel as needed are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience.
• Certificate IV in occupational health and safety or related field.
• 5+ years in WHS/training roles, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of WHS principles, legislation and Australian standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel and work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Keep up to date with WHS regulations, standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with management to identify training needs and priorities.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate comprehensive training programs across the organisation.
• Champion workplace safety and promote hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Create and monitor WHS policies and procedures for compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and inspections, recommending corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevention strategies.
• Develop emergency response plans including evacuation and first aid procedures.
