Job summary

Nunkuwarrin Yunti of Sa Inc is seeking a Work Health Safety & Risk Officer to strengthen governance, accreditation and risk across the organisation in a culturally safe Aboriginal Community Controlled setting.

You will develop and implement WHS and risk systems, maintain the risk register, coordinate audits and lead strategic safety initiatives in collaboration with management and the Board. A strong knowledge of Australian WHS laws and risk practices is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in WHS or risk management.
• Qualified in WHS or risk with certification or demonstrated equivalent capability.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, regulations, codes and risk-management requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and improve WHS and risk procedures, systems and work practices within approved organisational frameworks.
• Maintain the organisational risk register and support risk owners to identify, assess, treat, monitor and report risks.
• Lead WHS audits, inspections and investigations, analyse findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare specialist WHS and risk reports, briefings and presentations for the WHS Committee, management and Board.
• Provide WHS leadership and specialist advice with limited direction.
