Job summary

Xavier College is seeking a proactive and highly organised Work Health and Safety Coordinator to join the WHS team. The role supports the Team Leader in delivering operational WHS services across campuses including Gawler Belt, Two Wells, Evanston and Riverlea Park.

The successful candidate will coordinate WHS policies, provide practical guidance, conduct risk assessments and manage training, inspections and audits to promote a safe learning environment across the College.

Qualifications

• Diploma in WHS with at least one year of study or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and school compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and database systems.
• Willingness to participate in required training and collaborate across campuses.
• Ability to work autonomously and across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve WHS policies, procedures and initiatives across the College.
• Provide practical guidance on WHS matters to staff and contractors.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor control measures.
• Undertake workplace inspections and audits for compliance.
• Deliver WHS inductions and coordinate mandatory training.
• Support Return to Work activities and contractor compliance processes.
• Assist WHS Committee with documentation and actions.
