Qualifications

• 1-3 years' relevant WHS experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience implementing WHS requirements on residential construction projects, including high-rise residential construction and basement works.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent; White Card and drivers licence are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor compliance with WHS legislation and company safety procedures.
• Review SWMS, risk assessments and site safety documentation.
• Identify hazards and assist with implementing appropriate control measures.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Monitor subcontractor WHS compliance.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations.
• Maintain WHS records, reports and corrective action registers.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project-specific WHS Management Plan with project management and subcontractors.

We are seeking a proactive WHS Advisor to support our construction projects across South East Queensland.

The WHS Advisor will work closely with site supervisors, project teams, subcontractors and management to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with Queensland WHS legislation, company policies and project safety requirements.

This role is suitable for a WHS professional with approximately 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the building or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor compliance with WHS legislation and company safety procedures.
• Review SWMS, risk assessments and site safety documentation.
• Identify hazards and assist with implementing appropriate control measures.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Monitor subcontractor WHS compliance.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations.
• Maintain WHS records, reports and corrective action registers.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project-specific WHS Management Plan in consultation with project management and subcontractors, ensuring approval before construction commences, communication to relevant personnel, and timely updates as construction stages and risks change.

Requirements

• 1-3 years' relevant WHS experience, preferably in construction.
• Demonstrated experience implementing WHS requirements on residential construction projects. Experience in high-rise residential construction and basement works would be highly regarded.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Current White Card.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Good understanding of Queensland WHS requirements.
• Experience with SWMS, risk assessments and site inspections.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• First Aid / CPR certification would be highly regarded.
