Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a FIFO Health and Safety Advisor to support multiple projects across NSW and QLD. This is a hands-on role working with site and operational teams to implement practical safety solutions and embed safety across day-to-day operations.

You will conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, incident investigations, and assist with HSE plans and SWMS. FIFO from Sydney is preferred; Brisbane or Melbourne candidates will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety roles within construction or infrastructure.
• FIFO or DIDO experience preferred.
• Minimum WHS Certificate IV; Diploma desirable.
• White Card and 4WD certificate required.
• Strong communication and ability to engage frontline workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site health and safety support across active construction zones.
• Conduct toolbox talks, pre-starts, site inspections and investigations.
• Assist with project HSE management plans and SWMS implementation.
• Monitor WHS compliance with legislation and procedures.
• Engage with workers and subcontractors to promote safe culture.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and reporting activities.

Our client is an established Australian construction and infrastructure business supporting clients across a range of industries, including resources and other project-based environments.

The organisation has a strong focus on safety, quality and reliable project delivery, with a practical and collaborative approach to its operations.

Due to an increase in projects, they are looking for an experienced HSE professional who can work closely with operational teams and help drive a proactive safety culture across their NSW and QLD projects.

About the Role

Our client is currently seeking a FIFO Health and Safety Advisor to support a number of new projects across NSW and QLD.

This is a hands-on role focused on more than simply providing advice. You'll work closely with site and operational teams to provide practical safety solutions, support their implementation, and ensure safety remains embedded across day-to-day operations.

The role will also play an important part in building strong relationships with site teams, improving safety awareness and contributing to a positive, proactive safety culture across the projects.

FIFO ideally out of Sydney. Will also consider Brisbane and Melbourne based candidates.

Duties

• Provide on-site safety support across active construction zones and civil infrastructure works
• Conduct toolbox talks, pre-starts, site inspections, and assist with incident investigations
• Support the implementation of project-specific HSE management plans and SWMS
• Monitor site compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures
• Engage with workers and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reporting activities

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Health and Safety role within construction, civils, or infrastructure
• Prior experience working in a FIFO, or DIDO role
• Minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (Diploma highly regarded)
• White Card and Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) certificate
• Current First Aid certificateStrong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with frontline workers
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, risk assessment, and control measures
• Ability to hit the ground running and work independently on-site
