Job summary

Sterling NT is looking for a Grounds Maintenance team member to support front-line landscaping tasks and ensure client sites meet schedule and quality standards. You will operate whipper snipper, cut edges, and perform routine equipment maintenance to keep grounds tidy and safe.

The role requires practical outdoor work, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work well in a team across various sites in the Territory. Local knowledge and a commitment to service are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory National Police Security Check Report.
• Be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
• Be able to perform manual work for long periods outdoors.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Cut edges with hand and whipper snipper.
• Remove litter from garden beds and driveways; remove dead branches and leaves.
• Perform routine maintenance on whipper snipper and blower.
• Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations and procedures.
• Report maintenance and repair issues to the area supervisor.
• Follow health, safety and environmental policies and written instructions.

JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for the provision of ground maintenance services, safe and efficient operations of front whipper snipper equipment to ensure our client’s landscaped grounds are maintained as per the site schedule and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

• Cut edges with hand and whipper snipper.
• Remove litter from garden beds and driveways Remove dead branches and leaves.

• Tasks to be carried out in a manner that causes the least inconvenience to customers, staff and the general public.
• Temporary warning signs placed when required.
• Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s
• recommendations and the SNT operating procedures
• Report maintenance and repair issues to the area supervisor.
• Understand and comply with quality, safety, health and environmental policies.
• Follow written instructions, verbal direction and procedures to perform work.
• Challenge any instructions that you believe places anyone or the environment at risk.
• Take personal responsibility to protect the health and safety of people or the environment.
