Job summary

Jobtailor in Melbourne seeks a hands-on gardener/groundskeeper to maintain gardens and outdoor spaces to high standards. You will trim hedges and trees, mow, edge, and use whipper snipper, manage weeds and pests, and maintain irrigation systems.

Job description

• Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas in pristine condition
• Perform hedge and tree trimming
• Complete mowing, edging, and whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through herbicide application
• Rake and blow leaves; prune and dispose of dying vegetation
• Plant, mulch, water, and maintain flowers and shrubs
• Maintain irrigation systems
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of facilities, including BBQ and pool maintenance
• Keep mechanical equipment and tools in good working order
• Work 38 hours per week between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday
• Help ensure resort grounds are safe, clean, visually appealing, and presented to a high standard for residents and visitors

Requirements

• A "C" class drivers licence
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying
• Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
• Role is subject to a pre-employment medical check
