Job summary

FMS Group is seeking a General Manager – West Coast Operations to drive the West Coast Division’s growth, safety, and financial performance from WA. You will lead a large team, work with clients and suppliers, and shape the division’s strategy for the future.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in mining operations, 3+ in leadership, proven P&L management, and strong WHS/commercial acumen. This role offers a senior leadership path and accountability for delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mining operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.
• Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgets and commercial outcomes.
• Proven track record of leading teams and improving operational performance.
• Strong understanding of the mining industry, market dynamics and competitive landscape.
• High-level financial and commercial acumen.
• Strong knowledge of WHS requirements and risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated business development and client relationship management capability.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges.
• The ability to make sound decisions, take ownership and lead with accountability.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall operational performance of the West Coast Division.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture, embedding HSEQ standards across the operation.
• Take ownership of divisional P&L, budgets, profitability and commercial performance.
• Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue, expand the customer base and diversify the division.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Identify new market opportunities, industry trends and potential business risks.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee resource planning, operational delivery and workforce performance.
• Manage contracts, variations, commercial negotiations and operational risk.
• Monitor divisional KPIs and implement improvement initiatives.
• Provide clear, accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership.
• Champion FMS Group's values and create a positive workplace culture.
