Northern Rivers Fencing Pty Ltd is seeking a practical Welder / Yardperson to join our team in West Ballina, NSW. The role blends workshop welding, yard duties and occasional on-site work to support our fencing and gate installations.

You will MIG weld aluminium and steel, fabricate gates and fencing components, and help with material preparation, stock handling and deliveries. A dependable, detail-oriented candidate with a current licence will fit well.

Qualifications

Northern Rivers Fencing is looking for a practical, reliable Welder / Yardperson to join our team in West Ballina.

This is a hands-on and varied role working primarily across our workshop and yard, supporting our fencing and gate installation teams, with some on-site work as required.

The majority of the welding work is MIG welding aluminium and steel, including the fabrication of gates, frames, fencing components and other items used across our projects.

The role isn't purely welding. You'll also be involved in processing, picking and packing orders, preparing materials for jobs, receiving deliveries, loading and unloading vehicles, stock handling and keeping the workshop and yard organised.

What you'll do

• Assist with on-site fabrication, welding, repairs and general fencing work as required

What we're looking for

You'll need to be practical, reliable and capable of working independently once given a job. We're looking for someone who is comfortable fabricating in the workshop, working around the yard and occasionally heading out to site when required.

Essential:

• MIG welding experience with aluminium and steel
• Good fabrication and measuring skills
• Ability to use workshop tools safely and confidently
• Good attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Current driver's licence
• Willingness to get involved in general workshop, yard and occasional site work

Highly regarded but not essential:

• TIG welding experience
• Stick welding experience
• Forklift licence
• MR or higher truck licence
• Gate or fencing fabrication experience
• Warehouse, logistics or materials handling experience
• Order processing, picking and packing experience

You don't necessarily need to be a qualified boilermaker or fabricator. We're more interested in someone who can weld properly, works accurately, uses initiative and takes pride in their work.

Our work includes Colorbond, timber, aluminium, pool, chainwire and security fencing, along with manual and automatic gates.
