Job summary

Frontline Human Resources is sourcing Welder, Boilermaker or Fabricator roles in Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast.

Immediate starts are available with the possibility to transition to full-time. Wages start at AUD 40–42 per hour, with work Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:06pm, and overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Welder, Boilermaker or Fabricator.
• Experience in the door industry or with thin sheet metal.
• Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal to required specifications.
• Read drawings and work instructions to fabricate and assemble door components.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment with appropriate settings.
• Assemble and weld steel door frames, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.
• Conduct quality checks and maintain a safe, clean work area per WHS rules.

The Role

FHR currently have multiple opportunities for a Welder, Boilermaker or Fabricator to join our client that specialises in the door industry. This opportunity is located in Forest Glen (Sunshine Coast) and we have immediate starts available for the candidates who're successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal, ensuring clean, accurate and consistent welds to required specifications.
• Read and interpret basic drawings, measurements and work instructions to accurately fabricate and assemble door components.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, selecting appropriate wire, gas flow, settings and techniques for thin sheet metal applications.
• Assemble and weld steel door frames and components, ensuring correct alignment, dimensions and structural integrity.
• Conduct quality checks on completed welds, identifying and correcting defects such as porosity, excessive heat distortion, undercutting or inconsistent welds.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, follow WHS procedures and safely use welding equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery.
