Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician Grade 1/2 for weekend shifts in their hospital pharmacy. The role supports dispensing, production, and clinical activities and is open to final-year or penultimate-year pharmacy students.

The position offers 16 hours per week on a temporary part-time basis with a possibility of ongoing employment. Remuneration is $33.76–$42.99 per hour, with an inclusive team environment at NSW Health facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or equivalent.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and pharmaceutical calculations.

What you'll be doing

The Pharmacy Assistant will provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities.

This position is suitable for pharmacy students who will be in the final or second-last year of their pharmacy degree.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
• Computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
• Describe a regular commitment you maintained for at least six months, such as employment, volunteering, sport or caring responsibilities. How often did you attend, and describe one occasion when it was difficult to meet the commitment. What did you do
