Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District is offering a weekend Pharmacy Assistant role targeted at final or penultimate year pharmacy students. You will support the Pharmacy Department across dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities within RNS pharmacy.

This temporary part-time position provides valuable hospital experience, 16 hours per week, and a pathway to ongoing employment. Applicants should be in the final or second-last year and ready to contribute to a dynamic hospital

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or equivalent.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations; pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades).
• Computer literacy, including MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
• Describe a regular commitment you maintained for at least six months (employment, volunteering, sport or caring responsibilities).

What You'll Be Doing

The Pharmacy Assistant will provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities. This position is suitable for pharmacy students who will be in the final or second-last year of their pharmacy degree.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
• Computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
