Job summary

NSW Health in NSW is offering a weekend pharmacy student opportunity within the NSLHD hospital pharmacy team. The role provides hands-on experience across dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities, ideal for students in their final or second-last year of study.

Temporary Part Time until 9 January 2028, with potential for ongoing employment. Immunisation and health checks may be required as part of NSW Health policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or equivalent.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and pharmaceutical calculations.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Describe a regular commitment you maintained for at least six months (employment, volunteering, sport, caring responsibilities).

What you'll be doing

The Pharmacy Assistant will provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities.

This position is suitable for pharmacy students who will be in the final or second-last year of their pharmacy degree.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
• Computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
