Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District – St Leonards Park NSW is seeking pharmacy students in final or penultimate year to join the weekend pharmacy team at RNS pharmacy. This temporary part-time role offers hospital-based experience, 16 hours per week, and a paid rate of $33.76–$42.99 per hour until 9 January 2028, with potential ongoing employment.

You will support the Pharmacy Department across dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities, with a Certificate III/IV in Hospital

Qualifications

• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or equivalent (Technician grades only).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
• Computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
• Describe a regular commitment you maintained for at least six months and how you handled it.

What you'll be doing

The Pharmacy Assistant will provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities.

This position is suitable for pharmacy students who will be in the final or second-last year of their pharmacy degree.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria

• Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
• Computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
• Describe a regular commitment you maintained for at least six months, such as employment, volunteering, sport or caring responsibilities. How often did you attend, and describe one occasion when it was difficult to meet the commitment. What did you do
