Job summary

Stomping Ground Brewery in Melbourne’s Morris Moor is seeking an experienced Functions Manager for a 6-month maternity leave contract starting January. You will be the primary contact for all bookings and functions, guiding guests from enquiry to a well-run event and post-event follow-up.

Role includes running weddings, major functions and events, and coordinating with FOH, kitchen teams and suppliers. The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of leadership in restaurants or events, proven

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience leading a team in restaurants or events.
• Proven experience in running weddings.
• Proven experience in function sales, enquiries and event planning.
• Strong organisation with high attention to detail and consistent execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident phone manner with clients.
• Current Victorian RSA certification.

Responsibilities

• Be the first contact for bookings and functions; handle high volume enquiries by phone/email.
• Manage function enquiries and bookings; allocate to the right area.
• Host site visits, venue walk-throughs and tastings to convert enquiries into bookings.
• Plan and run weddings from start to finish with couples and suppliers.
• Provide clear weekly/daily run sheets to FOH and kitchen teams.
• Run major functions and events, including weddings and VIP bookings.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and management to ensure food, staff, and resources for each function.
• Support calendar and help plan consumer and trade events.
