Job summary

Melbourne Water is seeking three Capital Initiation Officers to shape and sc ope projects across waterways and catchments. Roles involve early-stage investigation, scoping and design, with travel to multiple work centres and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience in natural resource or environmental projects with a focus on waterways.
• Minor capital works or infrastructure project experience.
• Project scoping, investigation and design experience.
• Asset management or maintenance environment experience.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders with competing requirements.
• Experience working with councils, government agencies, landowners or external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ALTUS, Maximo or GIS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take projects from defined need through investigation, scoping and design before delivery.
• Organise and coordinate projects to align requirements, constraints and stakeholder needs.
• Handle projects ranging from $100k to $1 million in value.
• Manage projects with varying scale, complexity and stakeholder involvement.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Engage with councils, landowners and heritage bodies and other agencies as needed.
• Partner with delivery teams downstream as projects move into implementation.
• Use information, asset and spatial systems to inform planning and asset understanding.
