Job summary

Melbourne Water is recruiting three Capital Initiation Officers across the Peninsula Westernport, Werribee and Maribyrnong teams. These roles focus on early project scoping, investigation and design to deliver waterways and catchment improvements in Melbourne.

You'll work across projects valued from around $100,000 to $1 million, travel to multiple work centres, and collaborate with councils, landowners and agencies. A pool car will be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in natural resource or environmental projects focusing on waterways.
• Experience with minor capital works or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in project scoping, investigation and design.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead project investigation, scoping and design from identified need.
• Organise and coordinate projects ensuring requirements, constraints and stakeholder needs are understood upfront.
• Manage projects valued between $100,000 and $1 million with varying complexity.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Engage with councils, landowners and heritage bodies and other agencies as required.
• Partner with delivery teams downstream as projects move into implementation.
• Utilise information, asset and spatial systems to understand assets and inform planning (ALTUS/Maximo/GIS advantageous).
