Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council in Mittagong NSW invites applications for Trainee Water Services. Two temporary full-time positions offering a 2-year traineeship with a starting salary of $32,541.34 to $51,251.78 per annum plus 12% super.

You will work with experienced operators to operate, maintain and monitor Water Treatment Plants and wastewater networks, gaining hands-on experience and pursuing a nationally recognised qualification.

Qualifications

• Completion of Year 10 with RoSA.
• Literacy, numeracy and digital literacy; basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to training and personal development; planning and prioritising.
• Interest in operations and maintenance in Water & Sewer.
• Willingness to work outdoors; meet WHS requirements.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist operation, maintenance and monitoring of Water/Wastewater plants and networks.
• Learn inspections, monitor equipment performance and respond to issues.
• Support maintenance activities and ensure safety and customer service requirements.
• Work towards the Assistant Operator competencies through training.
