Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council is offering two two-year Trainee Water Services positions in Moss Vale. The role involves supporting safe, reliable water and wastewater services, learning through on-the-job training, and completing formal study to become an Assistant Operator.

You will work with experienced operators across treatment plants and networks, gaining practical skills while meeting environmental and safety requirements. Applications close 10 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Completion of Year 10 with RoSA.
• Literacy, numeracy and digital literacy with basic computer skills.
• Commitment to training and personal development.
• Interest in operation and maintenance in water/sewer.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environment and perform manual handling.
• Ability to work in a team and understand WHS.

Responsibilities

• Assist operation, maintenance and monitoring of Water Treatment Plants and Wastewater networks.
• Support inspections and respond to operational issues.
• Learn competencies toward Assistant Operator through on-the-job training and study.

Education

Year 10 completion (RoSA)
