Muswellbrook Shire Council is offering a Trainee Water and Wastewater Operator role in Muswellbrook NSW. You will assist in operation and maintenance of Council's water and wastewater facilities under supervision, with a 2-year traineeship and Certificate III in Water Operations.

Salary starts around 55,322 AUD per year plus 12% superannuation; traineeship is full-time 38 hours per week; applications close 10 November 2026.

Competenze

• Higher School Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.
• Must complete Certificate III in Water Operations.
• Strong communication, literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
• Interest in a career in Local Government.

Mansioni

• Assist the Water and Wastewater operators with the operation and maintenance of the Water and/or Sewage Treatment Plant(s) and raw water pumping stations.
• Once deemed competent, provide an ‘on call’ operations and maintenance service on a negotiated basis as required.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment including, but limited to; pipe cleaning equipment, pumps, generators, power tools and vehicles.
• Undertake administration work as required including recording of daily log sheets, service request forms, incident report forms and maintenance of electronic records.
